Scott grew up close to the home building business, with both parents involved in new home marketing and real estate sales.

Scott McCue Homes, Inc” began as a goal of Scott’s while attending Bowling Green University where he majored in Construction. After graduating with a degree in construction management in 1995, Scott returned to his hometown and started the company with the construction of his first home.

During the first couple of years, Scott designed and built several home on scattered lots.  In 1997, he built and furnished a model home in Portage Glen. The Jackson Township location marked the company’s first involvement in a subdivision.

That same year, Brian St. Jean joined Scott as Construction Manager and sales grew to about a dozen homes per year.

At the same time, Scott was “growing” the business, he became actively involved in the Building Industry Association of Stark County ( the B.I.A.) and the local chapter of the National Homebuilder Association (NAHB) where he served on several committees and soon became a Board member.

In 1998, the company designed and built Scott’s first multi-award winning Parade
of Homes entry. This added significant credibility to the company’s growing reputation for unique designs, creative use of space and quality construction. In the years to follow, the company has won numerous awards including “Home of the Year” (twice) and “Builder of the Year”.

In 2002, John McCue became Director of Marketing. With over 30 years experience marketing new homes, John oversees all aspects of the sales process for Scott McCue Homes.

That same year, Jason Dillon joined the company as Brian St. Jean’s Construction Assistant.

In 2003, Scott McCue Homes began building detached single family condominium homes in Burnham Hills, a Plain Township community of smaller ranch villa homes designed for “empty nesters” and the emerging market of “re-sizing” baby boomers.  Cindy Farris joined the company during that year as our marketing and administrative assistant.  With the success of Burnham Hills, we continue to refine our villa home designs and build several per year in villa communities throughout the area.

In 2004 the company developed the first phase of Wyndham Ridge a single family community of upscale homes in Jackson Township.  This neighborhood was the site of the 2005 B.I.A. Parade of Homes and was also awarded “Stark County Community of the Year.”  Wyndham Ridge is the current location of our furnished model home and design center, several ½ acre building lots are available there.

2004 was also the year that Scott became President of the Stark County B.I.A. (Building Industry Association) and later the same year was awarded “Builder of the Year”, a tribute to the company’s commitment to building quality homes.

In 2006, Peter Nupp joined the company with over 15 years experience in new home construction as cost estimator, plan designer, and drafting specialist add an important “next step” to improving the value and designs of Scott McCue Homes.

Scott started the company with a goal of being the “Best” not the biggest. In 2005 we celebrated our 10th anniversary, never losing sight of our goal.  As we continue through our 2nd decade, we constantly work to create the “best” designs, the bestvalue in every home we build, and the “best” possible level of customer satisfaction.

We are proud of our reputation and the number of referrals we receive each year from our satisfied past customers. We welcome the opportunity to do our “best” for you.
